What is the most dangerous intersection in St. George
Utah? If you guessed 1000 East and St.
George Boulevard, you are right.
According to St. George police, this intersection saw 40 crashes during
a one month time period. Cars collide at St. George’s second-most
dangerous intersection, St. George News, July 6, 2019. Sunset Blvd and Dixie Drive is St. George’s
second most dangerous intersection (35 accidents occurred at this intersection
during the same time period). Id.
Many of these crashes are caused by drivers making left hand turns who
fail to yield the right of way to on-coming traffic.
On July 6th, it is reported that a driver of a
Trailblazer was cited for failing to yield on a left-hand turn causing a collision
with a Kia Rio. Id. Unfortunately,
the driver of the Kia was transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical
Center for medical care. Id.
We certainly hope that the driver of the Kia has a complete and quick
recovery. Living with the misery of
broken bones, damaged discs or whiplash certainly takes some joy out of
living. We get it.
The attorneys at Truman & Radford are committed to making
the roads a safer place by holding wrongdoers accountable and by educating the
public about the need to obey the basic traffic safety rules. Life is too short to be driving distracted or
in too much of a hurry to wait for traffic to clear before crossing the
road. If you remember one thing about driving,
remember this: It’s always better to be
safe than sorry. There are simply no
excuses for unsafe driving.
