ST. GEORGE, UTAH (JUNE 19, 2018) – The authorities reported that a tragic crash occurred on Tuesday night which left 3 dead and 2 children in critical condition.
State Troopers reported that a Ford fusion and a Porsche Cayenne SUV collided around 9:30. The family driving the Ford fusion were visiting from California and driving along U.S. Route 50 when the Porsche, who had crossed lanes earlier to pass traffic did not return to its lane. The Porsche collided headlong in to the Ford Fusion. The couple driving the Ford were killed instantly, a child died on the way to the hospital and the other two remain in critical condition.
Both vehicles caught fire and the occupants had to be extricated from their vehicles.
Authorities are looking into the cause of the accident, stating either distraction or speed causing the Porsche to not return to its lane. Potentially, dogs inside the Porsche may have been a cause of distraction.
This is a terrible and unfortunate accident for all involved. Our thoughts and prayers go out to each individual affected in this crash. The occupants of the Ford have every right to seek reparations for the heart rending devastation caused by the distracted driver of the Porsche. According to Utah law the injured occupants have a right to make a claim against the driver of the Porsche or the insurance for their injuries, vehicle damage, the loss of loved ones and loss of enjoyment of life.
