CEDAR CITY CRASH LEADS TO ANOTHER

CEDAR CITY, UTAH (JULY 9, 2018) – Main Street, Cedar City. Authorities reported one crash led to two.

About 1 in the afternoon, A Hyundai and a Ford Focus entered an intersection of Main Street, in Cedar City, Utah, Monday, July 9. The Hyundai ran a red light and t-boned the Ford focus that was driving through.

The driver of the Hyundai received citation for running a red light.

An inhabitant of the Ford Focus was injured in the crash. Ambulance provided transportation to Cedar City Hospital for treatment.

When the traffic slowed down around the crash another accident occurred, this time between a Chevy pickup truck and a Toyota Camry. The pickup truck was not paying attention and did not slow down with traffic. The truck rear-ended the Camry.

No injuries were reported from the second crash, nor were citations given at that time.

According the Utah 2016 crash summary a motor vehicle crash occurred every 8 minutes. The leading cause for these accidents is speeding. It is important to remain alert, obey traffic laws, and drive a safe distance behind another.

It is terribly unfortunate to be injured by another in a car crash, especially, when the injured person was not at fault. From the information provided, the injured individuals may have claims to make against those that hit them. The occupant of the Ford Focus that was injured has every right to seek reparations for the damage and injuries caused by the Hyundai Driver.  According to Utah law the injured occupants may have a right to make a claim against the driver of the Hyundai or their insurance for their injuries, vehicle damage, the loss of loved ones and loss of enjoyment of life.
